Shanghai Cafe Chinese Restaurant

I have lived in the same area my whole life. So I have ordered from many different Chinese restaurants in this area over the years. Shanghai Cafe is hands down the best Chinese restaurant I have ever ordered from. One of my favorite dishes is General Tso Shrimp, and I've had many different versions from the many different places over the years. Shanghai Cafe's General Tso Shrimp is by far the best I've ever had. They use whole shrimp, unlike some places that use chopped up shrimp mixed into a bread ball. The sauce is amazing, just the right hint of spiciness, not too much. I love that they give you a lot of customization options. Like, extra rice or extra meat. Everything is always hot and fresh, and I have not had a single problem from them. I notice the most common complaint is the wait time, but it's not any longer than other Chinese restaurants I've ordered from in the past. I'd rather wait 40-60 minutes for delicious, hot, fresh food, than wait a shorter amount for subpar food.

The driver was great !! I accideently forgot to changes the address from my moms to mine. Well they delivered to my mom's house We and called me. I told him it was my fault and I'd come pick it up, but they came to my house anyway!! I wish I carried cash cause I would have given even more tip then what I had already put on my card ! It was great. And the food was still warm and amazing!

Shanghai Cafe Chinese Restaurant is my go-to! Out of all restaurants on Grubhub in my area, I rely HEAVILY on this place and they always come through with HOT, FRESH, and DELICIOUS food EVERY TIME! This place makes their hot and sour soup juuust right! The prices are amazing and they deliver fairly quickly. Theyve NEVER forgotten any food items! 2 BIG THUMBS UP!

Food was super fresh and arrived earlier than expected. Ive ordered here dozens of times and its usually good but last night was great! Ordered the combination special with chicken w/broccoli and orange chicken. Added brown rice and then an order of crab rangoons. All of it was delicious and I cant wait to eat my leftovers.

I use to order here their food was great. (the only exceptional chinese restaurant I would order from) but now their food has become amazing normally I order my General Tso's chicken no spicy but forgot to ask but the food is so good it wasn't overwhelming hot. it actually blended with the food nicely.

Omg! First of all, they have boneless pork ribs! When you get them, you will realize that they are the best cuts of pork with amazing sauce! My partner is a huge fan of the General Tso's chicken.... On every order!

This is hands-down the best Chinese food in the DC area. The flavors are perfect on everything we order. We order several times a week from Shanghai and will continue to.

Ordered the boneless spare ribs and combination fried rice. The food was amazing! Will definitely order from here again.
